The Picture

I see so many posts on Facebook that are telling spouses to take the picture. I love that but I have another side to that aspect that I’m working on. I’m working on being IN the picture.

I LOVE photography and I’m always taking pictures of my husband and kids. I usually forget to be in the picture. There are many family outings that have pictures of everyone in my family but me. Part this is that I just love taking pictures so I’m always behind the camera, and the other part is that I hate the way my body looks at different angles (I’m talking to you double/triple chin) and maybe the fact I didn’t “do” my hair well enough for a picture. This year I am making more of an effort to be in more pictures regardless of how my hair looks or how I feel about how I look. I don’t want my daughters to grow up feeling this way.

I have been not been shying away from pictures with my kids when the moment strikes, even if I have my hair up yet again. Or if gasp my hair is greasy. Like these pictures

Now let me get something straight, just because you take the picture or are in the picture it doesn’t mean you have to post the picture. I know what a concept in today’s time. It seems like everyone posts every little detail of their lives. Having the picture is just as good as posting it. Don’t get me wrong if you want to post every picture more power to you. I’m just saying be in the picture. When your time is up your children and your children’s children are going to want to see pictures of you no matter how you look.
