We are doing a Pizza Kit Fundraiser for our Uncles family. Archie tragically passed away at the young age of 14 on April 5. I can’t even begin to imagine the heartache they are going through.
Due to his sudden passing they have had a lot of unexpected expenses. To help ease the burden my husband and I have decided to try our hand at fundraising. I like to organize and plan if you haven’t caught my drift from other posts. Although I feel like I may have gotten in a little over my head. We decided to go with Little Ceasars Pizza Kits because who doesn’t love pizza? I personally thought of doing the pizza kits because it would be a fun activity to do with my girls as well. I will be purchasing from my own fundraiser. (I don’t think they have rules against that). And the proceeds will go to help the Pearce family in their time of mourning.
Now the purpose of me writing this isn’t so that you all will go buy pizza kits, I mean that would be awesome. But really I want you to know that there are other ways to help raise money besides Go Fund Me…(SHUDDER).
Go Fund Me is an awesome resource. I get it. But in reality there are fee’s. When I see Go Fund Me’s it gives me an icky feeling. I mean anyone can put up a Go Fund me for whatever. Literally What. Ever. They want to. Hip surgery for a dog, a new pair of shoes, a vacation…I could keep going, but I think you get my point.
Another thing that I am personally not fond of is when Direct Sales do Fundraisers. Not that I have anything against Direct Sales. I think it’s awesome for the people it works for. They don’t work for me. I’ve tried…a few times. I guess the bigger problem I have with a fundraiser through direct sales is that the majority of the products aren’t necessary, and people will be less likely to buy something that they don’t want/need just to support a cause. I don’t want to start an argument, this is just my opinion. And I guess selling Pizza Kits isn’t really any better than that, but I guess my end point is that it’s pizza? Which if you know me is weird since I am not really a “Pizza Person”. Gasp. I know.
The posibilities are endless for fundraising. Do a bake sale, t-shirt sale…literally anything else besides Go Fund Me, even if it is with Direct Sales. Ok, Rant over. Enjoy your day.
