I want to apologize for the lack of posts. This summer I’m spending more time with my family and less time at the computer. I can’t promise a post a week, but I will try. Starting in the fall I will be more consistent.
Now on to the Unicorn Birthday Party. My daughter is obsessed with horses and when I gave the options for type of party she chose Unicorn. I had so much fun putting this party together.
I started with the invitations. I decided way before that I wanted to make everything for her party since the bowling cupcake toppers were such a hit at my youngest daughter’s birthday party. You can check them out here.
I found a doodle image I liked on Pinterest and then copied it for the invitation. I also did a few signs, since we had the party in our backyard.
This is the only sign I got a picture of, because by the time we were putting them up I was having bad anxiety about getting everything done in time for the party.
I thought having the party at home would be super relaxing because we didn’t have to rush anywhere, and didn’t have to really do anything. But I was wrong. As the time came closer to the party I was having major anxiety, and almost a full blown panic attack. Which might sound silly, to have so much anxiety over a birthday party. But it was my reality.
Once the party started I was fine, and it was a great time. We didn’t have games or anything. We just did a free for all having the kids play on the swing set and the parents relaxing in the shade. I couldn’t ask for a more fun night. And my daughter loved it. So really that’s all that matters right?
And yes I know this goes against everything I’ve said about being a “Pinterest Mom” but I only did it because I couldn’t find anything I liked in the store near me and I really didn’t want to order anything online. We have a big trip coming up and I wanted to make it as simple as possible…well kinda. Haha.
